On a summer morning, a grasshopper was hopping on the grass with great pleasure. He was very happy and was singing, dancing and enjoying life in that happiness.
While the grasshopper was busy in its fun, an ant was carrying a grain of food on its back and carrying it to its anthill. When the ant passed by the grasshopper, the grasshopper called him and said, "Dear Ant come and have some fun"
But the ant refused and continued with the work. The Ant worked hard all day, picking up food grains one by one from the field and carrying them to its anthill.
The grasshopper, immersed in its fun, looked at the ant and laughed. He would call it again and again and say, "Dear Ant, why are you working so hard? Come, take some rest, listen to my song. It is a long and bright summer day. Why waste such a beautiful day with such hard work?
The ant said, “I am collecting food for the winter season. you should also collect some food for the winter. Otherwise, you will regret it later."
"Why worry about the cold weather from now on?" The grasshopper said, “I have enough food and the winter season is still far away. There is plenty of time to prepare for it. Right now I want to spend the time sleeping comfortably and having fun. Believe me, quit the hard work and have fun.
Ignoring the grasshopper, the ant continued its work. By working hard all summer, he collected a lot of food grains in its anthill, which would be useful to him during the cold days.
On the other hand, the grasshopper kept dancing and singing throughout the day instead of preparing for the cold weather. he did not realize that the summer days are not going to last very long. Soon cold days and then rainy days will come, which will be difficult days for creatures like him.
Gradually the heat went away and the winter season arrived. The summer season turned into a cold winter. Now the sun is barely visible in the sky. The days got shorter and the nights got longer. It was freezing cold and it was snowing.
Now the grasshopper realized that the ant was right. He too should have prepared for this season in advance. But he kept on dancing and singing and having fun all summer. Now he neither felt like singing nor dancing. His meal was over. He was suffering from cold and hunger.
He had never thought that the cold could be so bad. He didn't have food. There was no arrangement to avoid the cold. He began to feel that in the summer season in which he had so much fun and wasn't prepared for the winter now he might not be alive to see the next summer.
One day, suffering from hunger, his eyes fell on the ant resting happily in its anthill in the snowy weather. He had enough food and shelter to escape the cold. The grasshopper started repenting and started crying and slowly fainted.
When the Grasshopper opened its eyes it found itself in the Ant's anthill the ant gave the Grasshopper some food and promised to give him shelter and food till summer only if he work hard during the summer to store food and prepare a shelter for the winter season in the future, the Grasshopper promised that he would never be lazy and would never delay his duties
